GUY BLACKMAN Adult Baby reissue LP LAUNCH

Guy Blackman and band launch the first ever vinyl reissue of his 2008 baroque pop masterpiece Adult Baby, with support from Sweet Whirl (band show) and Mystery Shopper. Originally release on CD only by Melbourne label Unstable Ape, the album features over 20 musicians, including a duet with Jens Lekman, guitar from Mick Turner (Dirty Three) and Mikey Young (Eddy Current), and cameos from the cream of Melbourne 2000s indie, including members of Crayon Fields, Art Of Fighting, Fabulous Diamonds, Minimum Chips and Pikelet. Now the album is getting its first ever vinyl reissue via Guy's label Chapter Music as a co-release with French label Pop Superette.

Guy has co-run Chapter Music since the early 90s and it is now one of Australia's longest running and best loved independent label. At the same time he has maintained a solo career, singing frank and moving songs about queer domestic life, and playing shows with the likes of Joanna Newsom, Bill Callahan, Stereolab, John Grant, Vashti Bunyan and many more. He has also played in bands Sleepy Township, Minimum Chips and Montero.
Support on the night somes from Sweet Whirl playing a rare show in band mode, and new project Mystery Shopper featuring the multi-talented Hank Clifton-Williamson, best known as Sarah Mary Chadwick's main musical collaborator.
